How to save the music from a TikTok as MP3

Every TikTok video has a sound: either the creator’s original sound or a song from the app’s library. Its name shows under the video, next to a music note. You can save that sound as MP3 from the video link, on your phone or your computer. This guide shows how, how to find out the song’s name and what you can do with the file.

Step by step

1. Copy the video link. In TikTok, open the video, tap Share (the arrow in the right-hand column), then Copy link. Use the video link, not the sound page link.
2. Paste it on the site. Open pegavid.com.br in your browser and tap Paste. The search starts on its own.
3. Tap Download audio. In the Your files list, the sound comes as MP3. The file downloads right away.

In a photo post with music, Download audio shows up after the photos. The steps are the same as on the TikTok MP3 page, which has quick answers about the file.

Find out the song’s name

• From the name under the video. The sound’s name scrolls next to the music note. For a library song, it usually shows the title and the artist.
• From the sound page. Tap the sound’s name. A page opens with the full name and other videos using the same sound. The details on that page change with the app version.
• Original sound. When the name says it’s an original sound, followed by someone’s username, the person who recorded it made the audio. If you hear a well-known song there, it may be playing in the background of the recording, and TikTok won’t show its name.
• With a music recognition app. Play the video near an app like Shazam, or use Google’s song search. It works best when the music is loud and there’s little talking over it.

With library music, the MP3 clip may be a different length from the video. To get exactly what you hear in the video, download the whole video as MP4 on the home page.

Where the MP3 goes

• iPhone: in the Files app, in the Downloads folder. Photos doesn’t store audio, so the file stays in Files, where you can play it or send it in a message.
• Android: in the Download folder, which music and file apps can find.
• Computer: in your Downloads folder.

The file name starts with tiktok- followed by the video’s number.

What you can do with the music

The MP3 has the song, but not the license to use it. Commercial songs have owners: the artist, the record label and the songwriters.

• Listening or studying, without posting. Keeping the sound of a class, a narrated recipe or a song to listen to offline is personal use.
• Using it in your own TikTok video. Use the sound inside the app: the sound page has an option to make a video with it. TikTok’s library is licensed to play inside the app. Music added from outside may get muted.
• Using it on another network. Pick the music from the audio library of the network where you’ll post. A track downloaded from TikTok can get your video muted or taken down.
• Ads, events or client work. The song needs permission from the rights holders, or a license you buy. There are royalty-free music libraries for this.

Speech, classes and original sounds have authors too. If you’re going to post them again, ask for permission and credit the creator’s username.

When the audio won’t download

• The screen says music links aren’t supported. You pasted a sound page or a link from a music service, like Spotify. Paste the link to a video that uses that sound.
• There’s no Download audio. The video has no sound at all.
• The screen says it couldn’t find the video. It may have been deleted or be from a private account. Only public videos work.
• “The links have expired.” Links last about 15 minutes. Tap Get new links.

Does the MP3 have the whole song?

It has the clip TikTok keeps for that sound, which is often just part of the song. For the full track, look for the song on a streaming service.

Is the MP3 good quality?

It’s the quality of the sound TikTok stores. The file is converted to MP3 so it opens on any device, and converting can’t bring back what the platform already compressed.

Can I save the sound without downloading the video?

Yes. Download audio gets just the sound, without the video. If you want both, also use Download video in the same list.

Don’t TikTok favorites save the sound?
