How to download TikTok audio in 3 steps
Copy the video link
In TikTok, open the video, tap Share (the arrow) and Copy link.
Tap Paste
The search starts on its own. Or paste the link in the box and tap Download.
Tap Download audio
In the Your files list, the audio comes as MP3.
A video link has /video/ in it, like tiktok.com/@profile/video/ followed by a number. The short link the app copies, with vm.tiktok.com, works too: the tool finds the video on its own. The steps are the same as on the home page, which downloads the whole video.
What’s in the MP3
On TikTok, every video has a sound: the creator’s original sound or a song from the app’s library. Its name shows at the bottom of the video, next to a music note. That sound is what the MP3 has, the way TikTok stores it.
With an original sound, speech and background come together. With a library song, the MP3 usually has only the song, without the voice of whoever is in the video, and sometimes the clip isn’t the same length as the video. For exactly what you hear in the video, download the MP4 on the home page.
Music and rights
TikTok’s music is licensed to play inside the app. Using the same track in your own video, on another network, can infringe the rights of the artist or the label, and the video can be muted or removed. To add music to your video, pick it from the audio library of the network where you’ll post.
PegaVid doesn’t download songs from streaming services. Links from Spotify, Deezer and other music services are rejected, and the screen tells you. The same goes for a TikTok sound page: paste the link to a video.
Where the file goes
Each device saves it in a different place. On iPhone, the file goes to the Files app, not to Photos.

Where the MP3 is saved
On iPhone, Safari saves the file to the Files app, in Downloads. It plays right there, and you can send it in a chat with the Share button. The Photos app doesn’t store audio.
On Android, Chrome saves it to the Download folder, where music and file apps can find it. The file name starts with tiktok- followed by the video’s number.
The guides show every screen on iPhone and on Android.
When the audio won’t download
- The video is private or deleted. The screen says the video wasn’t found. Only public videos work.
- It’s a profile link. tiktok.com/@ followed only by the account name is the profile. Open the video before copying. See how to copy the right link.
- The video has no sound. A silent video still downloads, but the list has no Download audio.
- The links have expired. Links last about 15 minutes. Tap Get new links.
Privacy and rights
The audio isn’t stored on our server: the file only passes through it on the way to your device. Download for personal use, like listening to a class or keeping a narrated recipe. Rights holders can ask us to block a video on the content removal page.
Frequently asked questions
What's in the MP3?
The video’s sound as TikTok stores it: the creator’s original sound or the song used in the video. It’s the same track named at the bottom of the video.
If the video has speech and music, does the MP3 have both?
It depends on the video’s sound. With an original sound, speech and background come together. With a song from TikTok’s library, the MP3 usually has only the song. For the exact audio of the video, download the MP4.
Can I paste a link to the sound page?
No. A TikTok sound page, the one that opens when you tap the song name, isn’t supported. Paste the link to a video that uses that sound.
Does the MP3 play on iPhone?
Yes. Safari saves the file to the Files app, in Downloads, and it plays right there. The Photos app doesn’t store audio.
What's the audio quality?
The quality TikTok stores the sound in. The file is converted to MP3 as you download it, with no gain in quality: converting can’t bring back what the platform already compressed.
Does it work with photo posts?
Yes. Photo posts usually have music, and the list shows Download audio after the photos. See the TikTok photo downloader.
Can I use the music in my own video?
Usually not. TikTok’s music is licensed to play inside the app. Using the track in another video, on another network, can get the audio muted or the post removed. Use the sound library of the network where you’ll post.
Why is there no Download audio button?
Because the video has no sound at all. A silent video still downloads, but the list has no Download audio: there’s no sound to save.
Is it free?
It’s free, with no sign-up. Ads pay for the site, and they’re never placed right next to the buttons.
