How to download TikTok videos on PC (Windows and Mac)
Updated on October 24, 2026
On a computer, you don’t need to install a program or a browser extension. The site works in Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari, on Windows and on Mac. The file goes to your Downloads folder, like any other browser download, and you don’t even need to log in to TikTok.
Step by step
- Open the video on TikTok. On tiktok.com, click the video until it opens on its own. The address in the browser bar becomes that video’s address.
- Copy the link. Copy the address from the bar with Ctrl+C (Cmd+C on a Mac). The right link has /video/ and a number in it, or /photo/ for a photo post. The video’s Share button also has Copy link.
- Paste it on the site. In another tab, open pegavid.com.br, click Paste (or click the box and press Ctrl+V, or Cmd+V on a Mac), then click Download.
- Pick your file. In the Your files list, click Download video. In a photo post, each photo has its own button, and Download all puts them all in a .zip. Download audio saves just the sound as MP3.
The first time you click Paste, your browser may ask whether the site can read what you copied. If you’d rather not allow it, paste with the keyboard. The video comes without the watermark TikTok adds when you use the app’s own Save video.
Where the file goes
- Windows: open File Explorer and click Downloads. In Chrome and Edge, Ctrl+J shows your downloads, with a shortcut to the folder.
- Mac: open Finder and click Downloads, or press Option+Cmd+L.
The file name starts with tiktok- followed by the video’s number, the same one that comes after /video/ in the link. In a photo post, each photo gets a number at the end: -1, -2, -3. That way, files from the same post stay together in the folder.
If your browser asks where to save, it’s set to ask on every download. Pick a folder and click Save.
HD or SD: which one to pick
When TikTok offers two versions of a video, the list shows both, each with its resolution. HD has more pixels and looks better on a big computer screen. SD is lighter: it takes less space and tends to open in more programs. The SD file name ends in -sd.
Both are the video as TikTok stores it, with no conversion. There’s no option bigger than the original: stretching a video doesn’t add any new detail.
Opening the video, the .zip and the MP3
- Video: it comes as MP4, which opens in the player that comes with Windows and in QuickTime on a Mac. If the video won’t open, or plays with sound only, VLC, which is free, opens almost any format.
- The photos’ .zip: on Windows, right-click the .zip, choose Extract All, then Extract. On a Mac, double-click it: macOS creates a folder with the photos next to the .zip.
- Audio: the MP3 plays in any music player.
If you only want some of the photos, download them one by one: each has its own button in the list.
TikTok asks you to log in
On a computer, TikTok sometimes shows a window asking you to log in to keep watching. The site doesn’t need your account: it only needs the video link. If you don’t want to log in, there are two ways around it:
- copy the link on your phone, with Share, and send it to your computer, for example by email or WhatsApp Web;
- use a link someone sent you. The app’s short link, with vm.tiktok.com, works on a computer too.
Common problems
- The site says the link doesn’t point to a video. You copied the address of a profile, a search or a LIVE. Open the video before copying. The guide on how to copy a TikTok link shows where each button is.
- “The links have expired.” Download links last about 15 minutes. Click Get new links and download right away.
- The download stops halfway. It’s almost always the connection. Try again; if more than 15 minutes have passed, get new links.
- The video won’t open on the site. If it only shows up after logging in, it’s from a private account, and the site can’t download it. For other messages, see TikTok video won’t download.
FAQ
Do I need to install a program or an extension?
No. Everything happens in the browser, and the file downloads like any other.
Does the video have the TikTok watermark?
No. You get the file TikTok uses to play the video, without the logo and username the app adds. If you share it, credit the creator. The guide on the TikTok watermark explains how.
Can I download several videos at once?
No. The site works with one link at a time. In a photo post, Download all gets every photo from that post in a .zip.
I want the video on my phone. Should I download it on my PC and move it?
You can, but it’s faster to download straight to your phone. See the guides for iPhone and Android.
Does the site keep a copy of what I download?
No. The file goes straight to your computer, with no copy on our server.
